A Little Science Anyone?

A couple of days ago we visited a friend's house to talk about plant cells and to create one. Grace started hers but just finished today. Over the past couple of weeks we have discussed the main differences between an animal cell and a plant cell. This is the picture of a cross-section of a plant cell that we chose to create.
Finally today she finished it. I think she did pretty well. We were also supposed to create a flower and it's parts out of clay today but I think we will hold off until after spring break. Trying to tie up some loose ends before Spring Break next week. Of course it won't really feel like Spring Break, we have one dress rehearsal and three performances of Alice In Wonderland to get through. But at least we won't have to worry about school during the process. We may take Wednesday (since there are no performances) and go and do something fun.

When I home-schooled my children, we didn't have anybody near us that were homeschooling. I think it would have been more beneficial to have that interaction with others, and also to give me a bit of a break from a subject that I was weak in. Grace is very fortunate to have that. Her plant cell looks awesome. Kind of combining science and art together.
