Grocery Shopping

Today was big day grocery shopping. Between Walmart and Ingles I spent 225.00. This should last us two weeks. It included everything - food, toiletries, dog food, cat food, etc. Everything. I know I will have to return for milk (we go through almost three gallons a week). Still pretty astounded with the prices. The cheapest roast was 10.00, of course I didn't buy it. The least expensive meat is the ground beef which I know none of us should be eating. I do have 3-5 meatless dinners planned. Will do a two week menu plan later in the afternoon. Right now need to get cracking on laundry and cleaning house. Right now living in a pig sty.

Revised for menu plan:

Saturday - Rotisserie chicken
Sunday - Cheese Tortellini
Monday - takeout while installing backdrop for play
Tuesday - Spaghetti
Wednesday - B-cue chicken
Thursday - Fettuccini alfredo
Friday - Soup and Sandwiches or leftovers
Saturday - Teen girls group meeting at my house, serving homemade pizza
Sunday - Popcorn shrimp
Monday - Manicotti
Tuesday - Hamburgers, oven fries
Wednesday - Tacos
Thursday - Four cheese ravioli
Friday - homemade pizza

I guess that's not too bad considering the price of everything. But not good either.Do you raise a garden? We do as much as we can. I want to put in a raised bed, maybe I can do that I hope so. Blessings jane

I will be starting a garden next week. But of course won't receive much help from it for a while.

Food prices are tough aren't they? I've recently started buying veggies in bulk with friends from a local farmer's market. It's helping to save money - and forcing us to eat more fruits and veggies! Not sure if this would be an option for you - or if you are interested - but thought I'd share.

Blessings

Once the shopping is over...it's all down hill from there. I'm your newest follower.

Diane,
I've been using coupons again and have found some great sites.
One is Savingsangel.com and the other is the Krazy coupon Lady.

I'm starting to pay more attention to the sales and making a menu off of what's on sale.
