In Which I Cried Like a Baby

Okay, my daughter now thinks I am crazy. Over the past two years we have worked our way off and on through the Narnia Series. I cannot believe as a child myself I never even heard of this series of books, therefore never read them. I got to enjoy each book along with reading it aloud to Grace. All along my favorite book of the series was the first, " The Magicians Nephew", but I thinking after reading "The Last Battle", it may have to take center stage as our all time favorite. Grace thoroughly enjoyed getting to revisit with characters that had died many years ago that got to meet up with everyone at the end of the book. I could barely get through the last paragraph, reading aloud through the tears. This is were my daughter thought I had lost it.

"All their life in this world and all their adventures in Narnia had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter one of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before."

To think that Heaven is also like this. Getting to be with family and friends that have passed on before you and where every day is better than the one before. Amazing!

LOOOOVE this series, I had practically memorized The Magician's Nephew and Prince Caspian by the time I was 12... I am so glad you enjoyed the series. What a gift to read it for the first time as an adult with your child!

I finished the series with my younger two last November, and they just finished re-reading Dawn Treader (this time with Daddy) in anticipation of the new movie. I only read The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe when I was a kid. I'm so glad my kids aren't missing out on what I did all those years. And, yes, I cried too when we finished the last book. : )
