- Quick Breads - muffins, banana bread, difference between baking soda and powder

- Ironing
- Health and Fitness - importance of healthy foods and exercise
- First Aid
It will probably take us most of the year to get through these concepts. The Egg, Casserole, and Quick Breads sections have multiple dishes to cook before you move on to the next chapter. Looking forward to helping her learn to be more independent.

This is great! My mom started me on all the above...I called it chores. LOL! But I studied HomeEc in college and still have a love of all things home centered.
Good for you! I think these are extremely valuable skills and much easier when you learn them when you are younger. We call them chores too but Home Ec sounds a lot better. :)
BTW-I like how you included the difference between baking powder and soda. I learned that the hard way the first time I made cookies in Jr. High! LOL
I'd much rather my children have these types of skills than "cover" everything the public school system thinks they should.
