Heat

104 degrees! Enough said. This weekend has been all about the heatwave and trying to keep the chickens from dying. Wetting down the runs with the hose every two hours, changing waterers often, and placing frozen two liters bottles in the run to stand up against. I feel so sorry for them. One more day of 100 degree temps then down into the 90s and back to the high 80s by the end of the week. The 80s will surely feel incredible after this weekend. Can't imagine having to live like this all the time like Texas, etc.

Yuck! We are fortunate to not have the 100's in our area, we stopped at 93 degrees. Poor chickens, it really does stress them out. If you have access to poultry electrolytes for their water that does seem to help. I'll be hoping for cooler days for you!!

I am so JEALOUS! We will likely be in the hundreds until the end of August here in Oklahoma. I hate it! Last summer we had mandatory water rationing. I was thankful I didn't have any livestock THEN! Hope the chickens make it just a few more days.

It is that hot and hotter here. And I KNOW you remember how bad the humidity is. Stay cool Diane!
