Two of my favorite things in life is organizing and planning. I especially love planning curriculum for a new school year and that includes any classes I teach for the Cooperative. In August I was on schedule to only teach drama but one of my teacher's had to cancel out due to scheduling issues. I had a class in the back of my mind that I really wanted to teach to the older kids at some point. So luckily I already had a class to put in that time slot - Mapping the World with Art. I have loved this curriculum from afar and now I actually get to use it. It came in the mail today and I can't wait to start watching some of the DVDs and putting my lessons together for August.
I love to plan too. I'm already formulating ideas for next year and we aren't yet half way through this academic year! I'll look forward to reading more about this programme - it does sound interesting.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you saw my posts about this. Search my blog for it. We loved it. We did not finish it this year but will continue into next. I LOVED taking time to do the cover, the 16 point compass.
ReplyDeleteI think the title is a bit misleading. The tutorials are wonderful but the only art supplies used are black markers. I was given lots of beautiful heavy paper by my Aunt years ago and decided to use it to make our map portfolios. I gave the kids the option of using our good Prismacolor markers, water color, oil pastel, crayon and colored pencil to add color to their maps.
I hole punched the end of the paper and threaded the maps with yarn. When the entire collection is finished I will bring them down to Staples and have them spiral bound.
I think you will love this. It will make a great coop class.
