Another mountain of greens were brought in from the garden last night. I gave a bag to neighbors and a bag to Grace's drama teacher. That still left us three boxes in the fridge to share with the chickens.
Have you thought of canning your lettuce? I haven't tried it, but I would like to try. Old timers in this area use to can excess lettuce. Just an idea. But I do have it on good authority that the chickens enjoy the greens, too!

I have never heard of canning lettuce. The chickens do love their greens, so they get all the extras.

Oh, I'm so jealous! STILL fighting for a garden. I think we need nitrogen. Hopefully our new worms will get things going for next year.
